- 2006: WSOP Adds $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship
Record-high buyin event to debut four years after H.O.R.S.E. joined the WSOP as a $2,000 tournament.
- 2019: Big Blind Ante Standardized for All No-Limit Hold 'Em Events
After being introduced last year in eight events, big blind antes, where the player in the big blind puts in a single ante in lieu of every player contributing a smaller ante, are officially here to stay. Also, starting stacks are being increased, ranging from six times the buyin in the most expensive events to 100 times the buyin in the $400 Colossus.

"YK" begins year with a dozen online Circuit cashes, adds seven WSOP.com cashes, and finishes with two more online Circuit cashes for a total of 21 cashes for $56,598. With most of the WSOP moved online because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the WSOP Player of the Year is not awarded.
