• Memorial Day: The first time any World Series of Poker bracelet event was held on Memorial Day was in 2010, when the $50,000 Poker Players Championship, $1,000 No-Limit Hold 'Em, & $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo continued, and the $1,500 No-Limit Hold 'Em started. The only bracelet awarded on Memorial Day went to Chiab Saechao in the 2012 Casino Employees Event.

• 1974: Amarillo Slim Preston Appears on "The Tomorrow Show"
  Preston convinced Benny Binion and Joe Bernstein to join him on Tom Snyder's late night show, which becomes an hour-long advertisement for poker and the Horseshoe Casino.

• 2011: Sam Barnhart Wins First WSOP National Championship
  Defeats field of 100 for $300,000 in freeroll.
