- 2007: Phil Hellmuth and Barbara Enright Inducted Into Poker Hall of Fame
Hellmuth won the 1989 WSOP Main Event and ten other bracelets, while Enright is a 3-time bracelet winner who was the first and still only woman to reach the final table of the World Series of Poker (5th place in 1995). She becomes the Hall's first female member. [Hellmuth has added 5 more bracelets since joining the HOF.]
- 2008: Phil Laak Disguises Himself as Old Man for Main Event
Laak spends hours getting made up to look like an old man for Day 1D. [He fooled his table for quite a while but didn't survive the day. The WSOP responded by adding a rule to ban playing in disguise.]
