- 2012: Greg Merson Wins 2012 WSOP Main Event
Defeats field of 6,598, including Jesse Sylvia heads up, for $8,527,982 and move past Phil Hellmuth for WSOP Player of the Year honors. Merson also won the $10,000 No-Limit Hold 'Em 6-Max for $1,136,197 just two days before the Main Event started, making him the first player to win two seven-figure prizes in one year.
