Main Event Final Hand
[Hide Final Hand]

Darvin Moon, a Maryland logging company owner, is the chip leader going into the November Nine, while Joe Cada is fifth with less than a quarter of his chips. Moon's Ace-Queen upends Phil Ivey's Ace-King and Steve Begleiter's pocket Queens on separate hands to eliminate them. Cada outraces Antoine Saout to reach heads up with a 7-to-3 lead.

Cada falls behind but climbs to about double Moon's chips by the final hand. Cada raises and four-bets all in preflop. Moon calls and has a 48.0% chance to survive, but the flop, turn, and river all miss him. Cada becomes $8,546,435 richer as the youngest WSOP Main Event champion at age 21. Moon collects $5,182,601 for second place.

WSOP Wrapup
[Hide Wrap Up]

Jeff Lisandro won three bracelets -- the $1,500 Seven-Card Stud, the $2,500 Razz, and the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud 8 -- and also reached one other final table to earn WSOP Player of the Year honors.

Three players won two bracelets in Las Vegas -- Brock Parker, Greg Mueller, and Phil Ivey -- while J.P. Kelly won one in the U.S. and one in London.

Ville Wahlbeck won Finland's first bracelet in the $10,000 World Championship 8-Game Mix, and Peter Traply won Hungary's first in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold 'Em Shootout.

Roland de Wolfe won the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi/Lo to become just the second player to complete the Poker Triple Crown with his 2005 World Poker Tour and 2006 European Poker Tour wins (Gavin Griffin was the first in 2008).

In its thirtieth year, the World Series of Poker surpassed one billion dollars in prizes awarded in bracelet events.
