Most WSOP Cashes by Decade
Daniel Negreanu started off the 2020s by crushing the single-year record for cashes with 36 in the 2020 online WSOP (more cashes than anyone had in the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s). Roland Israelashvili pulled into second in 2022 and now stands just two cashes back.
Negreanu and Israelashvili were also one-two in the opposite order in the 2010s. Phil Hellmuth led the 2000s, An Tran and Men Nguyen the 1990s, Chip Reese the 1980s, and Johnny Moss the 1970s.

Notes:
- Every cash in the 1970s was also a final table, as no tournament paid more than five places.
- Only one female is in the top ten in any decade. Michelle Shah currently sits tied for sixth in the 2020s, having smashed the record for cashes in a single WSOP by a woman.
- Both WSOP.com and Hendon have Curtis Skinner among those with three cashes, including a 3rd place finish in the $1,000 Non-Professional No-Limit Hold 'Em, but the May 10, 1976 Las Vegas Review-Journal says Ironman Smith took that place for $12,975.
Decades Streaks
Four players have cashed in every decade of the WSOP (1970s to 2020s) -- Billy Baxter, Jim Bechtel, Mickey Appleman, and Perry Green. Five other players have until 2029 to match them -- Artie Cobb, Bobby Baldwin, David Sklansky, Dewey Tomko, and Jay Heimowitz.
Another 26 players have cashed in five straight decades and can extend their streaks in the 2030s, including Berry Johnston, Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan, Men Nguyen, Phil Hellmuth, Tom McEvoy, and two women, Barbara Enright and Linda Johnson. Two other players had streaks of five from the 1970s to the 2010s but are deceased: Doyle Brunson and Howard Andrew.
