Most Final Tables by Decade

At the midway point of the 2020s, Daniel Negreanu has reached 22 final tables (defined here as a Top 9 cash in a WSOP bracelet tournament), one more than Jeremy Ausmus and Yuri Dzivielevski, and just three fewer than the record he set in the entire decade of the 2010s.

Looking back at previous decades, Phil Hellmuth led the 2000s, Men Nguyen and T.J. Cloutier the 1990s, Chip Reese and Dewey Tomko the 1980s, and Johnny Moss the 1970s.

Every cash in the 1970s was also a final table, as no tournament paid more than five places.
Phil Hellmuth is the only player in the top ten in three different decades. Berry Johnston, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Ismael Bojang, John Cernuto, Men Nguyen, and T.J. Cloutier each have done it twice.

Decades Streaks

Artie Cobb and Jim Bechtel have both reached a final table in every decade from 1970s to the 2010s and can set a new record of six decades by 2029. Five other players have reached a final decade in five straight decades and can get to six in the 2030s: Erik Seidel, Mel Judah, Men Nguyen, Phil Hellmuth, and Steve Zolotow. Doyle Brunson also had a streak of five.

Of the 43 players who have streaks of four decades, eleven can get to five by 2029, including four women: Cyndy Violette, Esther Rossi, Linda Johnson, and Marsha Waggoner. An even 20 players can extend their streaks to five in the 2030s, including Chris Ferguson, Daniel Negreanu, J.J. Liu, John Juanda, Mike Matusow, and Todd Brunson.

J.J. Liu also has a streak of four decades, but it already includes the 2020s.
