Women: Most Money Won

With her second place finish in the 2020 online WSOP $5,000 Main Event, Wenling Gao came out of nowhere to become the all-time leading female money winner in WSOP tournament history with her first cash.

In 2024, Liv Boeree finished fourth in the Paradise Island $25,000 WSOP Super Main Event for $2,800,000 to become the new leader and set a one-year record of $2,809,952.

Two years later, Kristen Foxen became the first to top the four-million dollar mark with a victory in the $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold 'Em 8-Handed for $1,773,083.

As no woman has finished in the top four of a Main Event or Big One for One Drop, most of the other entrants on this list have earned their keep with numerous five- and six-figure cashes.

8	Sosia Jiang	$1,773,839
9	Kathy Liebert	$1,527,412<>/td>
10	Esther Taylor-Brady	$1,397,397

Four other women have surpassed a million dollars in WSOP winnings: Christine Do, Annie Duke, Jen Harman, and Leo Margets.

All fourteen have won over $1,000,000 in open events, and the order barely changes for that list (Obrestad is ahead of Selbst and Taylor-Brady is ahead of Liebert).

Boeree also passed Gao as the record-holder for the largest WSOP prize won by a woman. Here is the history of that accomplishment:

Bonnie Baez was the first woman to cash in an open event.
Jackie Mills was not only the first to finish runner-up in an open event, she repeated the feat two years later in the $1,000 Limit Draw High with Joker.
Vera Richmond was the first woman to win an open event.
Annette Obrestad was the first non-American woman to win an open bracelet and the youngest winner ever (a day shy of her 19th birthday, a record that can't be broken in the U.S.).
